Award Ceremony

Image On Wednesday, August 6th, The "Virginia Experiment" grant held its award ceremony at the Miller Center for Public Affairs at the University of Virginia.  In attendance were The Honorable Gerald L. Baliles, local dignitaries and Superintendents, and representatives of all five school divisions involved in the grant.  

Each division Superintendent was awarded a symbolic check in the amount of $1 Million to signify the total amount of the three year award to be spent on training and learning opportunities for teachers of American history.

We are proud to announce the launch of - the online home of the Teaching American History grant for the Central Virginia area.  We are comprised of 5 school divisions: Albemarle County, Charlottesville City, Greene County, Madison County and Orange County.  Our purpose is to provide high-quality educational opportunities for the member division teachers of American History.
